In Japan, we have some rituals at the specific ages. That is each time
we become 60, 77, 88 and 99 years old.
The 77th year (in Japanese we call it kiju）, which was celebrated
because an archaic form of writing the character ki (that means good
fortune), can be broken down to the components of Japanese Kanji
character of 7, 10 and 7, which can be read 77. Because of this
round-about connection, that age is seen as related to GOOD FORTUNE.
On January 25th, Mr. Matsumoto will turn to 77 years old, and this is an
excellent opportunity to show our appreciation to him!! Let’s send a
birthday message to Mr. Matsumoto!!
